The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. This section of Black Moshannon Creek is 17.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers
here more forgiving, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Black Moshannon State Park to Moshannon Creek section is the only paddling section along Black Moshannon Creek. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep
you coming back for more. The starting point is not too far from State College, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag.
