The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This stretch of Bobs Creek is 13.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come
because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The Dunning Creek to 1.7 miles
above Pennsylvania Route 869 section is the only paddling section along Bobs Creek. The scenic beauty of Bedford County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The campgrounds here at Bobs Creek are pretty good. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
Briefly about the general area: During the summer highs here at Bobs Creek reach the 80's with night lows in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs
are commonly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Bobs Creek. The high level of rainfall makes Bobs Creek a pretty wet spot; throughout July this area sees the most rain; October on the other hand is the driest. Nearby Sloan Hollow is a perfect site to go if you're at Bobs Creek.
