This section of Brush Creek in Somerset County is 3.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Cumberland, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania
are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The Covered Bridge to Wills Creek section is the only paddling section along Brush Creek. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
