The scenic beauty of Chester County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania are easier than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Reading, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Since you're
on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the
night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Buck Run doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Doe Run Church Road to Brandywine Confluence stretch is the only one. This stretch of Buck Run is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: Buck Run mostly gets a large amount of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain; February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Buck Run all through the summer months are in
the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Buck Run.
