The Doe Run Church Road to Brandywine Confluence stretch of Buck Run in Pennsylvania is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near
the river where you can camp. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Buck
Run doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Doe Run Church Road to Brandywine Confluence stretch is the only one. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.
Briefly about the general area: All through the summer months highs here at Buck Run get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Buck Run temperatures plunge to the 10's. Buck Run is a pretty wet place ordinarily with a good deal of rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain; February is when it's the driest.
