The nature scenery of Pike/Monroe County and the water flowing gracefully down Bush Kill Creek will make you feel great. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but     you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are no other stretches to paddle along Bush Kill Creek than the Pickeral Lake to Bushkill stretch. The Pickeral Lake to Bushkill section of Bush Kill Creek in Pennsylvania is 25 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-IV section. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Much rainfall falls at Bush Kill Creek; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. There is a pleasant hiking trail in close   proximity to Bush Kill Creek called the Bald Barren Trail, and going for a hike on the Flat Ridge Trail is always a great adventure. All through the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 70's at Bush Kill Creek, and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 30's while Bush Kill Creek nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
