Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The put-in location is a short drive from Oil City, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking     shoes. The I-80 bridge to Clarion River section is the only paddling section along Canoe Creek. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Canoe Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. All through the long summer days, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Canoe Creek, and the overnight is rather chillier of course, regularly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily   in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Canoe Creek.
