  The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Oil City, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The nearby hotels
    are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The beautiful scenery
of Clarion County and the cool fresh water beats anything. The I-80 bridge to Clarion River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Canoe Creek.

Briefly about the general area:
Canoe Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at Canoe Creek ordinarily tend to be in the 80's while night lows are generally in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Canoe Creek.
A short journey to Canoe Ripple is always worthwhile.
