The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip.
