CLASS II 4.1 miles
The Crabtree to New Alexandria stretch of Crabtree Creek in Pennsylvania is 4.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The starting point is not too far from Indiana, as you can see on the road map further down. Crabtree Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Crabtree to New Alexandria
stretch is the only one. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all
set. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
