The wonderful Somerset County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends     to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The Draketown to Youghiogheny River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Drake Run. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: Lots of rainfall falls at Drake Run; all through July this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. You might want to pay a visit to Ohiopyle Gorge while you're here at Drake Run. Throughout the summertime highs here at Drake Run get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's.
