This stretch of Elk Creek in Sullivan County is 4.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The Lincoln Falls to Loyalsock Creek section is the only paddling section along Elk Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and a chance     to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Elk Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Don't leave Elk Creek without first paying a visit to Lincoln   Falls, and delightful hiking is available along the Trout Hill Trail. You might want to pay a visit to Painter Hollow since you're here at Elk Creek, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Elk Creek; Middle Hill Trail is a pleasant local trail. This is a great river. Throughout the warm months highs here at Elk Creek reach the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while Elk Creek night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
