The Lincoln Falls to Loyalsock Creek stretch of Elk Creek in Pennsylvania is 4.7 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance,     you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The Lincoln Falls to Loyalsock Creek section is the only paddling section along Elk Creek. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: Lincoln Falls is an inspiring location to have a look at while here, and you could always look at Painter Hollow. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Elk Creek; Middle Hill Trail is a great local trail; there's great hiking along the Trout Hill Trail. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Elk Creek, high temperatures mostly reach the   80's, and the nighttime is a little cooler of course, typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Elk Creek. An average amount of rainfall falls at Elk Creek; the wettest month of the year is frequently June, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is January.
