The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or     kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Fike Run doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the to Gibbon Glade Run section is the only one. The to Gibbon Glade Run stretch of Fike Run is 4.8 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: From a rain point of view Fike Run is a pretty common location; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. During the months of summer at Fike Run highs are mostly in the 80's. Summer nighttime   lows dip down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Fike Run overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
