This section of Little Conemaugh River is 5.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are     pretty easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Lilly to Portage section is one of them. The campgrounds here at Little Conemaugh River are pretty good. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Briefly about the general area: Little Conemaugh River gets much water; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is October. During the warm days of summer at Little Conemaugh River highs are   frequently in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Little Conemaugh River temperatures descend to the 10's.
