The starting point is not too far from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre, as you can see on the road map further down.     This is the only paddling section along Mehoopany Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
