  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The put-in location is a short drive from East Stroudsburg, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of Wayne County and the water flowing gracefully down Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary
    are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you hurry you can run this
section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are  
great reasons to come.

Briefly about the general area:
Going for a hike on the Boundary Trail is always a great adventure; this is a popular spot for folks from Lake Ariel. Tobyhanna State Park is a good location to stretch your legs a bit, and there are delightful spots to explore along the Brown Trail. This river is so perfect. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Big Bear. Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River is a pleasant place near Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary. The high level of rain makes Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary a relatively wet location.
