The Gorge stretch of Miners Run is 1 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Williamsport it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the cool fresh water have people coming here. For all you camping
people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find
a large number of good spots. The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding.

wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Miners Run dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Miners Run is right by the Doe Run Trail. The Old Loggers Path offers hiking at its best, and Fourth Bottom Hollow is a delightful place to spend some time.
