Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Pottsville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there     are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is the only paddling stretch along Nescopeck Creek. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Briefly about the general area: Nescopeck Creek is a good site of normal rainfall; June is the month that gets the most rain; February is when it's the driest. For the period of the summer at Nescopeck Creek highs are generally in the 80's, and the night is somewhat colder of course,   generally in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and night lows at Nescopeck Creek through the wintertime mostly drop into the 10's.
