The put-in location is a short drive from Lancaster, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There's camping available near Octoraro Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some     kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The nature scenery of Chester County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
