The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Johnstown, please print out a copy of the road map further     down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This is the only paddling stretch along Paint Creek. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
