The starting location is a short drive from Lock Haven, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Tioga County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Whitewater rafting and     kayaking spots in Pennsylvania tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Ansonia to Blackwell section is the only paddling section along Pine Creek. The campgrounds here at Pine Creek are pretty good. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: Pine Creek gets a normal amount of annual rain; all through June this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Summertime highs at Pine Creek usually tend to be in the   70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Pine Creek dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. There is a great hiking trail close to Pine Creek called the Dillon Trail, and going for a hike on the Pine Trail is always a perfect adventure.
