The starting location is a reasonable drive from Somerset, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful scenery of Pennsylvania and the water flowing gracefully down Quemahoning Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the SR 160 to Quemahoning Dam section is one of them. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. is 3.62 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. And of course, there are campgrounds
nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks.
