The SR 2009 to Route 209 stretch of Raymondskill Creek in Pike County is 1 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you
might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The SR 2009
to Route 209 section is the only paddling section along Raymondskill Creek. The campgrounds here at Raymondskill Creek are pretty good. This is a very short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.
Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Raymondskill Creek without first paying a visit to Raymondskill Falls, and nearby you find the Lost Cabin Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Raymondskill Creek; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; February on the other

All through the warm days of summer highs here at Raymondskill Creek reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's.
