The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The Rt 160 Bridge to confluence with Shade Creek stretch of Roaring Fork is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Somerset it's not a long drive at all to the     put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The Rt 160 Bridge to confluence with Shade Creek section is the only paddling section along Roaring Fork. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Roaring Fork gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Summer at Roaring Fork comes   with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's while Roaring Fork overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
