The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. There are no other stretches to paddle along Slate Run than the Picnic area to Pine Creek stretch. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a pretty decent length section,     suitable for an afternoon trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. If you're coming from Lock Haven it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
