The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the water flowing gracefully down Slippery Rock Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Kennedy Mill to Eckert's Bridge stretch of Slippery Rock Creek in Pennsylvania is 4.7 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from New Castle, as you can see on the road map further down. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either
way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. On this section you do get some distance, you can
easily run it on an afternoon. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: It's always splendid to go to Grant City Falls, and do put some time aside to spend at Spillway Falls while you're here at Slippery Rock Creek. All through the summertime here at Slippery Rock Creek, high temperatures

The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows through the winter for Slippery Rock Creek tend to be in the 10's.
