The wonderful Lawrence County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater     rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. The put-in location is a short drive from New Castle, as you can see on the road map further down. There's camping available near Slippery Rock Creek. The Kennedy Mill to Eckert's Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
