Eckert's Bridge to Harris Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 3.5 miles
The beautiful scenery of Pennsylvania and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're coming from New Castle it's not a long drive at all to the starting location. This section of Slippery Rock Creek is 3.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more
forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Eckert's Bridge to Harris Bridge section is one of them. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby
campground. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
