The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers     for that. The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This is the only paddling section along Spring Brook. Briefly about the general area: Spring Brook mostly gets lots of rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain while February is typically the driest month. For the period of the summertime months at Spring Brook highs are commonly in the 70's; the night is rather cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are   normally in the 20's with temperatures at Spring Brook dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
