The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is the only paddling stretch along Spring Brook. The scenic beauty of Lackawanna County     and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
