If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. If you're coming from Somerset it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for     a morning trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. The campgrounds here at Stonycreek River are pretty good. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
