Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout     and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Williamsport, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. The scenic beauty of Tioga County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is the only paddling section along Tioga River. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Tioga River, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Tioga River night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Tioga River is a good   place of typical precipitation; June is the month that gets the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hiking along the Fisher Trail is brilliant fun. Take a hike on the Pig Hill Trail, and a fine place is Copp Hollow.
