Susquehanna stretch of White Deer Creek in Union County is 17.1 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are no other sections to paddle along White Deer Creek than the Coopers Mill Road to West Br. Susquehanna section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Pennsylvania tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so
if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag.

the winter are commonly in the 20's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at White Deer Creek drop into the 10's. There's great hiking along the Kettle Hole Trail. White Deer Creek is a good place of normal rain; of all the months in a year June is the one
with the most rain while January is usually the driest month. Lots of people from Lewisburg come to White Deer Creek, and don't leave White Deer Creek without first going for a hike along the Lyman Gap Trail.
