The Listonburg to Casselman River stretch of Whites Creek in Somerset County is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Somerset, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whites Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Listonburg to Casselman River stretch is the only one. For all you camping people there are campgrounds
    nearby. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon
trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.

Briefly about the general area:
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Whites Creek with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Whites Creek temperatures drop to the 10's.
Whites Creek gets a good deal of water; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
