If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This is the only paddling section along Whites Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance     because these hotels fill up quick. The Listonburg to Casselman River section of Whites Creek in Pennsylvania is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Somerset, as you can see on the road map further down. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the days of summer at Whites Creek highs are usually in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's; night lows through the wintertime for Whites Creek tend to be   in the 10's. Whites Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.
