Puerto Rico whitewater - Anasco River, Las Marias County Las Marias county, Rt. 124 bridge to Route 119 bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III(V)     7.8 miles   Does any one know anything about this river and paddeling in puerto rico in general? Cant seem to find much on the internet. Is it safe to camp, leave a car, stuff like that. Any info would help. There are no other stretches to paddle along Anasco River than the Rt. 124 bridge to Route 119 bridge stretch. The Rt. 124 bridge to Route 119 bridge stretch of Anasco River in Puerto Rico is 7.8 miles long and it is classified     as a class II-III(V) section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. The put-in is not too far from Aguadilla-Isabela-San Sebastián, as you can see on the road map further down. Briefly about the general area: A brilliant site to explore close to Anasco River is Quebrada Sumaria; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Vereda Descanso. All the water falling down from the sky makes Anasco River a wet site; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Summertime at Anasco River arrives with high temperatures in the 90's.   All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 80's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Anasco River drop into the 60's.
