  If you're coming from Mayagüez it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The scenic beauty of Las Marias County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Guabo River doesn't have a lot
    of paddling stretches, the Rt. 124 to Anasco river confluence stretch is the only one.

Briefly about the general area:
If you're here, you might as well stop at Quebrada Fria; going for a hike along the Vereda Descanso will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
Summertime highs at Guabo River commonly tend to be in the 90's; the nighttime is quite cooler of course, ordinarily in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 80's; winter nights come with lows in the 60's to Guabo River.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Guabo River a wet spot; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is January.
