CLASS III-V(V+)     5 miles
  If you're coming from San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location. This stretch of Rio de la Plata is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-V(V+) section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day
    trip. The beautiful scenery of Puerto Rico and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here.

about the general area:
Lots of folks from Comerio come to Rio de la Plata, and Rio de la Plata is right next door to Quebrada Convento which is without doubt worth taking a look at. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rio de la Plata; El Rada Trail is a delightful local trail. Spend the day on the beach at Playa de Levittown if you're here at Rio de la Plata. Throughout the long summer days, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Rio de
 
la Plata. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 80's with temperatures at Rio de la Plata dipping down into the 60's throughout winter nights. A lot of rainfall falls at Rio de la Plata. Throughout May this area sees the most rain while June is usually the driest month.
