  This section of Broad River in South Carolina is 17.9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. If you're coming from Gaffney it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. The scenic beauty of Cherokee/ York County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking
    in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This river system has a few good
paddling sections and the South Carolina Route 18 Bridge to South Carolina Route 211 Bridge section is one of them. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other places.

Broad River generally gets a good deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most while April is usually the driest month. The Rapids is always fun to check
 
out, and people from Gaffney love to come here.
Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Broad River, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and night lows at Broad River through the wintertime regularly descend into the 20's.
