This stretch of Carrick Creek in South Carolina is 0.1 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of South Carolina and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in is not too far from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting     or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The Green Creek Con Fork to Pinnacle Lake stretch is the only paddling stretch along Carrick Creek. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a very short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Carrick Creek a wet place; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Near Carrick Creek you hit upon   Panther Gap which is a perfect location to pop by. At Carrick Creek all through the months of summer highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Carrick Creek.
