If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Blue Hole Falls to Cobbs Bridge Road section of Cedar Creek in South Carolina is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seneca, as you can see on the road map
further down. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The Blue Hole Falls to Cobbs Bridge Road section is the only paddling section along Cedar Creek. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The nature
scenery of Oconee County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
Briefly about the general area: Cedar Creek is a wet site that gets lots of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is October.
For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Cedar Creek get into the 80's, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Cedar Creek. On a great day at Cedar Creek you can take a hike along the Chattooga Trail.
