The Blue Hole Falls to Cobbs Bridge Road stretch of Cedar Creek in Oconee County is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. The put-in location is a short drive from Seneca, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of Oconee County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle
for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Cedar Creek. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in
one stretch. The average South Carolina whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Briefly about the general area: There is a great hiking trail close to Cedar Creek called the Chattooga Trail. Cedar Creek is a relatively wet place usually with much rain; the wettest
month of the year is frequently March, that's the one that rains the most, and October is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Cedar Creek mostly tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's; through the dark hours in the winter at Cedar Creek temperatures drop to the 20's.
