The scenic beauty of Oconee County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle     for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Cedar Creek. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Briefly about the general area: There is a great hiking trail close to Cedar Creek called the Chattooga Trail. Cedar Creek is a relatively wet place usually with much rain; the wettest   month of the year is frequently March, that's the one that rains the most, and October is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Cedar Creek mostly tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's; through the dark hours in the winter at Cedar Creek temperatures drop to the 20's.
