Says Shoog The New Hope Church Road to Horseshoe Falls Road section of Cedar Shoals Creek in Spartanburg County is 2.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in South Carolina are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty     of places for that. This is the only paddling section along Cedar Shoals Creek. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're coming from Union it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
