Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in South Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The campgrounds here at Chattooga River are pretty good. This section of Chattooga River in Rabun GA / Oconee SC County is 13 miles long and has been     rated as a class II-III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Earls Ford to Route 76 Bridge section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Chattooga River, and the nighttime is somewhat cooler   of course, ordinarily in the 50's.
