The nature scenery of Oconee County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seneca, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There     are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 70's to Chattooga River - East Fork, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and night lows at Chattooga River - East Fork   during the wintertime ordinarily plunge into the 20's.
