If you're coming from Seneca it's not a long drive at all to the     put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Walhalla Fish Hatchery to Chattooga section is just one of many. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Hiking along the Foothills Trail is good fun; Spoonauger Falls is an inspiring place to go to during your stay. Man, is there a heap of enjoyable stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ellicott Rock is something you shouldn't   miss if you're here at Chattooga River - East Fork. Chattooga River - East Fork is a wet place that gets a good deal of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and April on the other hand is the driest.
