If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside South Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. If you're coming from Seneca it's not a long drive at all to the
put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Walhalla Fish Hatchery to Chattooga section is just one of many. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in
a few times. The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
