This stretch of Chauga River in South Carolina is 9.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations     in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding.
