Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. The starting location is a short drive from Seneca, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but     if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: Horseshoe Bend is an exciting spot to stop at while at Chauga River. For the period of the summer months highs here at Chauga River get into the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Chauga River temperatures dip to the 20's.
