The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Broad to Gervais stretch of Congaree River is -blank- miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river
where you can camp. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside South Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding.

Congaree River gets lots of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Congaree River during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Congaree River.
