This section of Eastatoe Creek - Lower Gorge is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III(V) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in South Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The starting point is not too far from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course,
there are campgrounds nearby. The Mill Creek to Dug Mountain Access stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The natural beauty of South Carolina and the sparkling
of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
