The scenic beauty of Anderson County and the water flowing gracefully down Eighteenmile Creek beats anything. The Nettles Park to US 76 section of Eighteenmile Creek is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class I(II) section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably     into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. This is the only paddling stretch along Eighteenmile Creek. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you're coming from Anderson it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: A lot of rain falls at Eighteenmile Creek; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month is April. Beaches are magnificent; and East Beach close to Eighteenmile Creek is no exception. Summertime highs at Eighteenmile Creek mostly tend to be in the 80's with   nighttime lows in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Eighteenmile Creek.
