The starting location is a reasonable drive from Greenville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of Enoree River in South Carolina is 4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.
For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The South Carolina Route 14 Pelham to South Carolina Route 296 section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're
not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
Briefly about the general area: It's always great to stop by
Pelham Falls. Through the summertime months highs here at Enoree River get into the 80's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, regularly in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Enoree
River sink into the 20's. Enoree River gets a large amount of water; March is the month that gets the most rain, and September is when it's the driest.
