The Flat Shoals Bridge to Tanyard Bridge stretch of Flat Shoal River in South Carolina is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons     enough to come here to paddle. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Flat Shoals Bridge to Tanyard Bridge section is one of them. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
