If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Briefly about the general area: Flat Shoal River is a wet site that gets a large amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout March while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation.   At Flat Shoal River during the summertime months highs are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's; nighttime lows all through the winter for Flat Shoal River tend to be in the 20's.
