The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in South Carolina are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This is a pretty     decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is the only paddling section along Island Creek. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: Island Creek gets a good deal of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is April. Summer at Island Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's.
