Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in South Carolina are easier than the national norm, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The I-26 to Tyger River section of Jimmies Creek is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. There are no other stretches to paddle along Jimmies Creek than the I-26 to Tyger River stretch. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily     run it on an afternoon. There's camping available near Jimmies Creek. The starting point is not too far from Spartanburg, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.
