South Carolina whitewater, Kings Branch

Cherokee county, Kings Mountain Park Run section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-III+     2 miles
If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. If you're coming from Gaffney it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are
great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels
nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The nature scenery of Cherokee County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
