Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there
are lots of good rivers for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A good workout and
a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great plus for this river. Matthews Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Raven Cliff Falls to US 276 section is the only one. The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything.
